When you are at work, the tendency is you focus on the immediate task at hand and then move onto the next one. A Stay Home Hubby, on the other hand, needs to plan out all the upcoming tasks and to attempt to complete them in one swoop. With all the different issues you need to handle, work or otherwise, the last thing you want is a gridlock of problems and having to rush everywhere to get them done.
I usually adopt the “hitting many birds with one stone” method, where I allocate one upcoming day to group as many of the tasks together and complete them in one go. Tasks are sorted according to location to minimize time wastage and maximize efficiency. Then the shortest and most direct route is planned to make it work. Like a man with a plan, being able to finish them all takes out a lot of burden on your shoulders. You feel relieved, and if you finish early, you may even have time to grab yourself a drink before moving on to other matters! As the saying goes: ~all in a days work~
The important thing is, and I’m sure you know, not to leave them past the last minute of no return – that time when it becomes impossible to finish them. Tasks are endless and will stack up like small stones, but a lot of them will become heavy indeed. Afterwards, you get stressed, constantly thinking about them, distracting you from your tasks and may even affect your well-being if left unchecked. About this, I will share my thoughts next time.
